A Sustainable Haiti

In the world of Foreign Aid today, there is much debate about the best and worst ways to offer aid, or whether or not to even give at all.

Recently, Haiti Today advertised a campaign to collect previously loved and lived in athletic shoes for Angel Bins, a for-profit recycling company that helps schools and other charitable organizations raise money through the recycling of shoes. Controversy ensued.

While HaitiToday is not all about controversy, we are about conversations – about Haiti, about poverty, about sustainability, about building strong families and communities.

HaitiToday is a small non-profit supporting Haitian inspired short term projects through fundraising. We join with our Haitian neighbors in asking questions and finding solutions. We encourage our supporters to be generous – whether that is through giving of in-kind items or money. And, we make decisions with what is given to us that are well thought out and wise, believing that we are building sustainable futures in Haiti.
